When you use it

- Wo bist du? – Ich bin in Berlin / bei der Arbeit / zu Hause.Where are you? – I'm in Berlin / at work / at home.
Use Wo? when you stay in one place. Cities: in. People and companies: bei. Home: zu Hause.

Wohin? – where you are going
- Wohin fährst du? – Ich fahre nach Leipzig / in die Türkei / zum Bahnhof / nach Hause.Where are you going? – I'm going to Leipzig / to Turkey / to the station / home.
Cities and countries without an article: nach. Buildings and countries with an article: in + accusative (ins Kino). People and places: zu + dative (zum Arzt).

Woher? – where you come from
- Woher kommst du? – Ich komme aus Spanien / vom Arzt / von der Arbeit.Where are you from? / Where are you coming from? – I'm from Spain. / I'm coming from the doctor's / from work.
Cities and countries: aus. People, offices or appointments: von (vom Arzt).

nach is for cities and countries. Buildings take in + accusative: ins Kino.
~~Ich fahre zu Berlin.~~
Ich fahre nach Berlin.
Going to a city: nach, not zu.
~~Ich komme aus dem Arzt.~~
Ich komme vom Arzt.
Coming back from a person or appointment: von (vom).

Exceptions

Going home: nach Hause. Being at home: zu Hause. Normally nach is for cities and zu shows movement, but not here. No article in either.
- Ich gehe jetzt nach Hause.I'm going home now.

In speech, people often split Wohin into two parts: Wo … hin? This is correct too.
- Wo gehst du hin?Where are you going?
