ReadFIT ("we", "us", or "our") is a language-learning app that helps you learn German by reading content you care about. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using ReadFIT, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Data we collect

We only collect the information we need to run ReadFIT and improve your experience:

• Account data: your email address when you sign up or log in. In the future, you may also choose to sign in with Google or similar providers.
• Usage data: how you use the app (screens you view, buttons you tap, reading time, features used), device type, operating system, and app version.
• Learning activity: which stories you open, your progress, saved vocabulary, and review history so we can personalize your learning.
• Push notifications: a device token provided by Apple or Google when you enable notifications so we can send daily reminders.

We do not ask for your name, profile photo, or other unnecessary personal details, and we do not show third-party ads.

How we use your data

We use the data we collect to:

• create and manage your account;
• keep your reading progress, vocabulary, and settings in sync across sessions;
• personalize content and difficulty to your level;
• send daily practice reminders and important service updates (if enabled);
• understand what works in the app and improve features and performance; and
• detect abuse, fix bugs, and keep the service secure.

We do not sell your personal data.

Analytics & service providers

We use third-party services to help us operate and improve ReadFIT. These providers process limited data on our behalf and are not allowed to use it for their own marketing.

• Analytics (e.g., Google Analytics): to understand how people use ReadFIT so we can improve content and features. This may include usage data, device information, and approximate location based on IP address.
• Hosting & infrastructure: to store and process your data securely on trusted servers.
• Push notifications: to deliver notifications via Apple and Google services using anonymous device tokens.

You can reduce certain types of tracking by adjusting your device privacy settings or by not using the app.

Data retention & security

We keep your data only as long as we need it to provide the service and for legitimate business purposes (such as security, debugging, and legal obligations). When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. However, no system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.

Your choices

• Turn push notifications on or off in your device settings.
• Contact us to request access to or deletion of your account data.
• Stop using the app if you no longer agree with this policy.

Depending on your country, you may have additional rights over your personal data. We will do our best to support these where applicable.

Children

ReadFIT is designed for general audiences but is not meant for children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal data from young children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes & contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. If changes are significant, we may notify you in the app or by other reasonable means.
