   Use innerhalb with the genitive for normal deadlines. The action can happen at any time before the period ends.

   innerhalb von + dative: numbers and plurals

   • Die Stadtwerke erwarten den Zahlungseingang innerhalb von zehn Werktagen.The local energy company expects payment within ten working days.
   • Der Kundendienst meldet sich innerhalb von 24 Stunden bei Ihnen.Customer service will contact you within 24 hours.

   A number or a bare plural can't show the genitive. Then use innerhalb von + dative.

   💡 Tip: With an adjective, the genitive works again: innerhalb weniger Tage.

   binnen sounds strict and official. You see it in reminders, court letters and insurance terms. It goes straight before numbers, without von.
